Critics Consensus

Giving Benoit Blanc a worthy mystery with its genuinely soulful fixation on faith and a scene-stealing Josh O'Connor performance, Wake Up Dead Man is another Knives Out puzzle that comes together splendidly.

Barry Hertz

Globe and Mail

Wake Up Dead Man is more a vehicle for Josh O’Connor, a rising and thoroughly interesting leading man who nevertheless cannot quite shoulder the dreary, dead weights that Johnson’s script places upon his shoulders.

All are terrific, but it is the amiable pairing of Craig and O’Connor that make this such a crime to remember.

I love Wake Up Dead Man. It may not be the best of the three Benoit Blanc mysteries, but it is my favorite, and, unless something truly cinematically extraordinary happens in the next six weeks, it will tie with Sinners as my favorite film of the year.

I loved Wake Up Dead Man. I loved that it made me laugh. I love that it made me think. I loved that it called into account the institutions that surround us without condemning those who exist within those institutions.

Felt forced...only good one in the series is the first and they could never capture that magic again

Josh OConor and Glenn Close met expectations but the other characters felt under developed. The film lacked the same polished, slick feel of the first two films. The first act was far too drawn-out which explains the lengthy runtime.

The movie had plenty of twists and turns in it and kept you on the edge of your seat. It was a bit hard to follow the wrap up however and definitely needs a second watch through to get all the plot points. Very good though!
