What to Know

Critics Consensus

Genuinely original science-fiction fare from television veteran Vince Gilligan, Pluribus leads Rhea Seehorn through a brave new world with plentiful returns.

Audience Says

Sometimes falling short of its high-concept promise, Pluribus is a supremely original entry from Vince Gilligan whose trademark cinematography remains employed as part of the ensemble.

Melanie McFarland Salon.com No matter where you sit on these spectrums, there’s a strain within “Pluribus” that speaks directly to your feelings, much like the disembodied voices on Carol’s phone that cheerily ask her what she needs whenever she picks up her handset. Nov 26, 2025 Full Review Inkoo Kang The New Yorker Her one-note sullenness means that Seehorn, who was heartbreaking as the repressed Kim on “Saul,” is squandered as the lead of her own show. Nov 24, 2025 Full Review Pippa Bailey New Statesman It is a brave thing, in our polarised, warring and fearful world, to create a TV series whose message seems to be: no, actually, everything would not be better if we could all just get along. Nov 27, 2025 Full Review Marta Medina mundoCine The unique Pluribus proves, week after week, its ability to keep viewers glued to the screen. Much of its magnetism lies in its antiheroine, [...] but also in the interesting questions that arise. [Full Review in Spanish] Rated: 4/5 Nov 26, 2025 Full Review Laura Fernández El Pais (Spain) The feeling is that Gilligan has taken a step back to redefine, spectacularly, science fiction from the place that will make it forever indispensable. prawnda s ive seen worse, but pluribus is basically a weird apocalypse fantasy for people who expect to have every luxury item while everyone else weirdly disappears. i watched all episodes thus far but it started to get boring very fast. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 11/30/25 Full Review Audience Member If Carol were a man you'd all defend her. Great show. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/30/25 Full Review Penny L. So I’m halfway in and so far it’s a huge thumbs up. It’s so different and thought-provoking, and such dark humor. If anyone else out there is sick of all the toxic positivity and forced optimism of late, you might really love this show, and it’s so well written and acted, you may go back and forth about how you feel about Carol’s “situation.” Anticipating the next episode… Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/30/25 Full Review bcd b Disappointing, as Seehorn was phenomenal in "Saul," but isn't given much to do here other than be unendingly dour. Maybe it will pick up, but the last few episodes went nowhere, slowly. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 11/30/25 Full Review Aldis H This show was a 5 star slam dunk through the first three episodes, E3 being one of the best things I've ever seen. Then E4 came along and it was just good. And THEN, E5 came along with a couple massive shark jumps. Vince Gilligan is NOT a genius. Gordon Smith, the writer of E3, is. E5 is slow, has a couple very stupid things in it, just not good. Almost stopped watching, and I still might. Apparently Vince, or whoever is the overseer of the whole thing, doesn't realize the premise leaves absolutely no wiggle room for anyone with a rational mind, that they can ask any number of questions, and the supplied answers to them, so far, end up being deal killers. There are at least two deal killers in E5. One is the drones they send. Stupid, stupid, stupid, and dead on arrival, with no backtracking possible, at least that this rational mind can see. One more episode like E5 and I'm done. Cero guion, cero personajes interesantes, cero ritmo.
